RERUNS was a planned set of sporadically updated collaborative extracanonically relevant comics akin to HOMESTUCK'S "PARADOX SPACE".
RERUNS had an extensive history on the backburner and was always a planned project, even during the early years of VAST ERROR. It featured a variety of official writers and artists from the series' history coming together to create traditional comics that filled gaps or otherwise gave extra information on characters and circumstances that VAST ERROR or SNOWBOUND BLOOD wouldn't have as much time to dwell on.
Each comic would have taken place somewhere within The Hyperthetical. Comics directly tied to VAST ERROR'S true timeline would be hosted by White Noise as an extrapolation that he has seen before, and as such did not have to fit into any concrete era. We could see eight sweeps Arcjec going to a Supermart without fuss as to when exactly it took place. We also intended to show unseen events in The Game that the reader and White Noise did not know about.
Stories set within probabilities on the other hand, would have slowly started to roll in over the course of the project. These would have been hosted by Mimesis, and the concepts would have been more intentionally outlandish. Explorations of events that never came to pass, surrealism, horror, intentional genre parodies, wacky offshoots and one off gag comics.
No characters or ideas were truly off limits, but the focus would have been applying the main twelve to new situations. They are, quite literally, the center of everything.
RERUNS was intended to launch alongside the start of ACT 3 ACT 1, but a lack of time, energy, and shifting focus due to other DCRC projects sharing those same team members always stopped it from fully manifesting. Most of the planned comics only took form as finished scripts, rough layouts, concept art, and brainstorming exercises.
It was a shame to let it go, but the main work is more important. Killing your darlings is an unfortunately necessary evil in the world of multimedia scope creep.
