WA: her name is cooperi ovo she is a stryx avian!
DQ: *really*now*
DQ: *i*heard*those*are*a*rather*rare*sight*
WA: indeed! she is the only of her kind i have ever seen.
WA: when i first met her, it was a little while after i had graduated from school.
WA: i liked to go out and explore the woods, and it was during one such expedition that i heard a curious sort of "hockaa" sound.
WA: and it scared me at first! but as i paid closer attention to it, i realized how distressed it was.
WA: that was when i decided to follow it. when i chanced upon her, cooperi was not in the best of conditions.
WA: i am not sure if it was simply bad luck in nature or... something else.
WA: but seeing her in that state, so injured and afraid, i couldn't just leave her!
WA: so i began to sing to her.
DQ: *why*that*sounds*like*quite*the*fairytale*scenario*as*well*
WA: oh! apologies, i forgot to mention my survival ability is related to my voice. uvu;
WA: it tends to have a calming effect on lusii and other wild creatures!
DQ: *i*see*
DQ: *how*serendipitous*that*you*found*her*then*
WA: very much so! ^v^
WA: she was agitated and i could not get close to her at first, so i sang from a distance.
WA: my voice was shaky from the nerves! cooperi is quite large, you see, and she can be very intimidating, but i managed to reassure her nonetheless.
WA: the melody soothed her bit by bit until, eventually...
WA: i was able to lay my hand on her feathers.
WA: i could not come up with any lyrics, but from the deepest recesses of my heart, i tried to tell her that everything was going to be okay.
WA: i still vividly remember the peaceful way she closed her eyes, letting out a happy little trill...
WA: that is when she chose me as her charge, i believe.
WA: and we have been inseparable ever since!
